George Harrison's Memorial Tree Destroyed By...

by Mike Stanz posted Jul 23 2014 5:00AM
In 2004, a pine tree was planted in Griffith Park in Los Angeles to honor George Harrison, one of the original Beatles. George spent his final days in LA, and according to most, he was an avid gardener, so the memorial was fitting.

Planted as a sapling, it grew to about 10 feet by last year. But this year, the tree was attacked by insects, and destroyed.

The insects: beetles.

Tree beetles, to be precise.

No need to look up “irony” ever again – this is the definition, right here.
