No one’s quite sure why, but Monica Lewinsky – the intern whose stained blue dress almost brought a presidency – is back in the news. Her essay for June’s Vanity Fair
talks all about her affair with then-President Clinton – and gave her the chance to take a shot at Beyonce’s hit song, “Partition.”
Part of the song deals with the aftermath of a relationship between a man and a woman in the back seat of a limousine. “He Monica Lewinsky’d all over my gown,” goes the lyric.
Lewinsky takes issue with the wording. “Thanks, Beyonce,” she writes, “but if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,’ not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d.’”
Beyonce, consider yourself schooled.
