Comedian Joan Rivers passed quietly yesterday afternoon, surrounded by family and friends.
Sad news, of course. But what a legacy she leaves behind, what amazing tributes from people whose lives she touched.
That's what remains of Joan, and will stick around for a long time to come.
She knew someday she'd be gone, and told people what she expected for her funeral...
"I want to look gorgeous, better dead than I do alive. I want to be buried in a Valentino gown and I want Harry Winston to make me a toe tag. And I want a wind machine so that even in the casket my hair is blowing just like Beyonce's."
A dozen years ago, CBS asked her to do a video essay in the style of Andy Rooney for Sunday Morning. Over the weekend, as she lay in her hospital bed, Sunday Morning replayed it.
It's a pretty funny look at getting older - you'd expect something else? - and as Joan reported, "older is better."
Rest well, funny lady. You done good.
