 On the air in Hampton Roads since 2005, Barry used to vacation here with his family when he was a kid.  I’ve worked at 2WD for over 16 years. It’s hard to believe, time has flown by so quickly working here. I love the station and I love Virginia Beach. I grew up in a General Electric family so we lived a lot of places. Through our many moves, I lived in Chesapeake and attended Western Branch High School. I’ve been fortunate to travel a lot and of all the places to possibly live in the United States, this area is perfect for me.

I enjoy the beach, the water, our Hampton Roads weather, going to concerts, travel, movies, home improvement projects and more. My son attends George Mason University in Fairfax and graduated from Cox High School. We’re very close and as he says we’re “best buddies”.

I recently returned to the air waves on 2WD after working behind the scenes in management for a long, long time. It’s fun to be on the air again and more like a hobby for me as opposed to "work". I enjoy the continuous soft rock we play and all music for that matter. I listen to music all the time in my car and at home. Aside from the ridiculous green beret and homely green jumper, signing me up for Girl Scouts was the best decision Mom made for her fifth-grade daughter. I already knew how to build a campfire, and selling cookies wasn't the highlight of my year -- it was the field trip to the radio station that thrilled my little eleven-year-old heart. There it was, five thousand watts of crystal-clear power...it was a daytime-only radio station, the voice of our town.   Tune in (Mon.-Sun 7pm-12am)

Radio broadcasting has been a part of Ron’s life for most of his adult life. Ron says, “I watched a local DJ through a glass window one day and decided I wanted that to be me! My first break came at a small AM station in Franklin, and I have loved it ever since.” Ron’s radio career has been in the Hampton Roads area with the exception of one position in North Carolina. He has been a “part-timer” with 2WD for over 10 years and the Point since 2008.

Aside from the radio, Ron enjoys time with his family, working and relaxing outdoors, watching a good game on TV, and eating out.
